Bangkok, Chiang Mai & Koh Samui

Bangkok, Chiang Mai & Koh Samui

A tropical 13-night city-to-beach getaway split between Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Koh Samui, with breakfast, travel and perks

Woven into the Indochina Peninsula in a tapestry of ancient monuments, gleaming skyscrapers, impossibly beautiful beaches and colourful street-food stands, Thailand has something to offer even the most jaded of travellers. This 13-night holiday takes you to three of the country’s most awe-inspiring destinations in a sweep of city and golden shore.

You’ll start your journey with three nights at the five-star Dusit Thani Bangkok, where you’ll have plenty time to explore the city. Drift from temple to glorious temple, from the opulent Grand Palace to Wat Arun on the riverside. Other must-sees here include seeing the Golden Buddha before taking on the city’s pulsating nightlife scene and indulging in local delicacies at night markets.

You’ll then travel to Thailand’s captivating cultural capital for three nights, staying at Tamarind Village, which is set in an old tamarind orchard in the heart of the historic city. You can enjoy the best of both worlds here, as you’re located within walking distance of the restaurants and famous night markets, as well as the awesome, ancient temples.

Last but by no means least, it’s onto the beautiful Koh Samui for a seven-night stint of uninterrupted rest and relaxation at Poppies Samui  – a tranquil collection of cottages luxuriously kitted out with every comfort. Here you’ll swap the sound of noisy silk markets for the softly lapping water of the warm Andaman Sea. With accommodation in a feng-shui inspired cottage, you’ll be just steps from the resort’s pool and the renowned white sands of Chaweng Beach.

Dusit Thani Bangkok (three nights)

With one of the best spots in town overlooking Lumphini Park, this hotel is repeatedly recommended as one of the best places to stay in Bangkok. Once you’ve had your fill of sightseeing, shopping and bartering, unwind in the modern Devarana Spa, swim a few laps of the outdoor pool, or stroll around the landscaped garden. The rooms epitomise modern Thai elegance, with soft lighting, luxurious Thai silks and intricate woodwork. Dusit Thani Bangkokscored a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Tamarind Village, Chiang Mai (three nights)

Named after the 200-year-old tamarind tree that shelters the hotel, this former orchard is now a boutique residence with arts-and-crafts inspired rooms and a lovely outdoor pool. Whitewashed walls, bamboo-clad galleries and regular creative exhibitions characterise this laid-back retreat, which offers peace and tranquillity away from the city’s bazaars and food stalls. Finely decorated rooms feature complimentary Wi-Fi and air conditioning, and your Lanna room has garden courtyard views. Tha Phae Gate and some of the most awe-inspiring ancient temples are within walking distance. Tamarind Village is a proud Travellers’ Choice winner among Thailand’s top 25 hotels for service on TripAdvisor.

Poppies Samui, Koh Samui (seven nights)

A collection of luxury cottages built in traditional style, Poppies Samui lies low amid cool fountains and thick green gardens. Utterly zen and home to a fabulous spa, swimming pool, a beachfront restaurant serving local cuisine and picture-postcard views of the beautiful Chaweng Beach at every turn, this resort demonstrates Thailand’s tranquil, natural side. Cottages are equipped with a private terrace, king-size bed, LCD TV, DVD player, mini bar, Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, a spacious living room and a spectacular bathroom, with its own private, screened garden area.
